Le SquareIt's a French restaurant with outdoor seating, which makes it look quite cozy. I ordered the prosciutto plate appetizer and a roasted lamb's knee, both of which were very good.

Kinka IzakayaThis is a Japanese style izakaya. There are a lot of izakayas in Canada, and Montreal, the French-speaking part of the country, is no exception. This place seems to have a seasonal menu, but overall it's pretty tasty, with Canadian flavors. One of the more famous dishes here is the shake bomb, which is made by placing a shake on your chopsticks and banging it on the table so that it will fall into the beer glass. But I couldn't get it to fall out even after half a day of knocking, so the shopkeeper came to solve the problem herself.

There is a famous Lanzhou Ramen in Montreal's Chinatown. I tried it once and found it to be really good, but there is a long queue at noon, so please come early. The Lanzhou Beef Ramen is the specialty and comes with a side of cucumber.

Otto yakitori izakayaAnother Japanese style izakaya. There are a lot of izakaya in Montreal, but fewer of them sell skewers, and this one specializes in skewers. We ordered a chicken set and a veggie set, and the chicken meatballs and chicken liver were the best, and then we had to add more.

ModavieAlso located in the center of the old town, this is a famous French restaurant that requires a special reservation. On this day, we got a good table right in front of the concert area, where we can listen to jazz music while we dine. The two signature dishes we ordered, the grilled lamb chops and the main course of duck, were not bad. However, after eating these two main courses, we felt that the price was too high for such a dish, probably because it is located in a popular tourist area, and we had higher expectations for the dishes.

There is a La fromageire atwater butcher shop in the Atwater market, I bought a lot of meat here for a week's worth of late night snacks.
The prosciutto sheets are super thin, and the quality can't be beat. 
This is one of my favorites, very chewy and flavorful.

Dieu du cielLocated in the mile end, this pub is famous for its house beer, and it's a great experience to come here and enjoy a beer. The snacks that go with the beer were just meant to be appetizers, but the portions were bigger than expected, so you can skip dinner afterward, and the meat was delicious.

Elio pizzeriaIt's a family style Italian restaurant, and it's always crowded. I went here twice, the first time I went very late and had to wait for quite a while, but the pizzas were delicious, the set menu included pasta, so I could choose my favorite flavor, and the bread that came with the meal was also very good. The second time I came here, I had more time, so I ordered one each of fried flower sticks, pasta and pizza.

Ma Poule MouilleeThis is a Portuguese style grilled chicken restaurant and the queue was very long. Luckily, there was room in the restaurant when I got there, so I was able to enjoy the delicious roasted half chicken on the spot. I also tried the No. 8 Poutine, which is also recommended by many people.
