Ridgeway State ParkIt is a state park in southwestern Colorado, just a short distance from theGunnison Black Canyon National ParkIt is quite close, only about 40 minutes by car. If you are driving in Southwest Colorado, this state park is a very good place to camp, because the campground in this park is very well-equipped, and the view of the mountains and water is very comfortable, and in fact, it is also known as the Little Switzerland of the United States.
The park surrounds the Ridgeway Reservoir and is divided into three areas: Dallas Creek, Dutch Charlie, and Pa-Co-Chu-Puk. Hiking, fishing, and skiing are all possible in the park, but there are no must-see attractions, so if you don't want to consider camping, this is a good place for those who live nearby to take a walk and get closer to nature. For those who just want to enjoy the scenery, the Forest Discovery Nature Trail in front of the visitor center will take you to a viewpoint with a view of the entire reservoir.

Ridgeway State Park has three campgrounds, Dakota Terraces Campground, Elk Ridge Campground and Pa-Co-Chu-Puk Campground, and we chose to stay at the most popular campground, Elk Ridge Campground, with 107 campsites. We chose to stay at Elk Ridge Campground, the most popular campground, with a total of 107 campsites, and a tent site price of $36. As I mentioned earlier, Ridgeway State Park is a particularly good campground to stay at while driving, because the facilities here are really great, and the campsites themselves are organized and comfortable, and there are showers and laundry services in the service building. The public spaces are kept very clean, the showers are not only free, there are two faucets in one shower, and the toilets and laundry rooms are heated, so it feels more upscale than a normal hotel, and it's one of the highest class campgrounds I've ever stayed at.
The views around the camp are quite beautiful, surrounded by mountains, and late fall is just right to see snow on the peaks and fall on the hillsides.
